Tab 3

Said to have inspired the likes of J.R.R.Tolkien, J.K.Rowling and Dennis Potter, "Gloucestershire's greatest natural wonder", the Forest of Dean, is best explored by following The Royal Forest Route, which takes visitors on a 20-mile tour of the spectacular broad-leaf forest.

Springtime is one of the best times of the year to follow this route, when many areas, such as the Soudley Valley are filled with the most spectacular bluebells.

Tourism Businesses

Our Vision and Aim:
Forest of Dean Tourism is all about working in partnership across the County and surrounding area to achieve joined-up thinking, planning, marketing and ultimately to increase the value and profitability of tourism in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley and the Cotswolds. In our aim to work with like minded organisations, we encourage all potential advertisers to become members of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association (WVFDTA). This is a voluntary organisation and is separate to Forest of Dean Tourism, (which is run by the District Council) however, we work together to provide tourism businesses with the very best that we can offer.

How to become a member of the Tourism Association:
Membership to the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association costs just £80 a year and members will be able to enjoy many added benefits, including a listing on the Association website, www.wyedeantourism.co.uk as well as a free, Silver-enhanced listing on the Forest of Dean Tourism website, www.visitforestofdean.co.uk. If you want to find out more about joining the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association, please Click here.
